كتاب «رحلة بنيامين التطيلي» هو سجلّ رحلات وتدوينات الرحّالة اليهودي الإسباني بنيامين بن الرابي يونة التطيلي، يضم وصفاً مفصلاً لمساراته عبر الدولة البيزنطية، والخلافة العباسية، والهند وشرق آسيا، وجنوب اليمن ومصر، مع تحليلاته للأوضاع السياسية والدينية في تلك المناطق. يتضمن النصّ أيضاً تعليقات وملاحظات حول التجار والاقتصاد، فضلاً عن مناقشات دينية تتناول العلاقات بين اليهود والمسيحيين والمسلمين. يُصنّف الكتاب ضمن أدبيات البلدان والجغرافيا والرحلات، ويُظهر اهتماماً بالوثائق التاريخية والآراء العقائدية للقرن الثاني عشر.
Translation
The book “The Journey of Benjamin of Tudila” is a record of the travels and writings of the Spanish Jewish traveler Benjamin ibn Rabi Yuna of Tudila. It includes a detailed description of his paths through the Byzantine Empire, the Abbasid Caliphate, India, East Asia, South Yemen and Egypt, with his analyzes of the political and religious conditions in those regions. The text also includes comments and observations on merchants and economics, as well as religious discussions dealing with relations between Jews, Christians, and Muslims. The book is classified within the literature of countries, geography, and travel, and shows an interest in historical documents and doctrinal views of the twelfth century.
