يقدّم الكتاب دراسة تاريخية للغلو والتطرف والإرهاب والعنف من منظور إسلامي، حيث يحدد المؤلف معاني المصطلحات المرتبطة بها ويستعرض جذورها في سائر الديانات ثم يركز على نشأتها وتطورها في الفكر الإسلامي مع إشارة إلى الخوارج والمعتزلة وغيرها. كما يناقش تأثير الغلو في باب الأسماء والأحكام ويقترح ردوداً استقرائية مستندة إلى منهج السنة الوسطية.
Translation
The book presents a historical study of fanaticism, extremism, terrorism, and violence from an Islamic perspective. The author defines the meanings of the terms associated with them, reviews their roots in other religions, and then focuses on their origin and development in Islamic thought, with reference to the Kharijites, the Mu’tazilites, and others. It also discusses the effect of exaggeration in the chapter on names and rulings and proposes inductive responses based on the approach of the middle Sunnah.
