About this work
الحاوي للفتاوى هو أحد كتب الفقه ألفه الحافظ جلال الدين السيوطي (849-911) ويعد أيضا أحد كتب الفقه الشافعي يبحث في الفتاوى الفقهية والمسائل والأحكام، حيث ذكر المؤلف فتاويه في مجمل ما عرض له من مسائل، وقد جاء الكتاب مشتملاً على فوائد في علوم الفقه والتفسير والحديث والنحو والإعراب وسائر الفنون. ويقول الحافظ جلال الدين السيوطي معللاً سبب تأليفه لكتابه الحاوي للفتاوى:
Translation
Al-Hawi li-Fatawa is one of the books of jurisprudence written by Al-Hafiz Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti (849-911). It is also considered one of the books of Shafi’i jurisprudence that discusses jurisprudential fatwas, issues and rulings, as the author mentioned his fatwas in all of the issues presented to him. The book included benefits in the sciences of jurisprudence, interpretation, hadith, grammar, parsing, and other arts. Al-Hafiz Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti says, explaining the reason for writing his book containing fatwas:
