البيان للإمام الفقيه أبي الخير يحيى العمراني اليمني الشافعي (489-558 هـ)، هو كتاب موسوعي في الفقه الشافعي، وهو شرح لكتاب المهذب لأبي إسحاق الشيرازي (المتوفى سنة 467 هـ)، وقد قام الإمام النووي (ت 676 هـ) أيضاً بشرح كتاب المهذب وسماه «المجموع شرح المهذب»، واشتهر شرح النووي أكثر من شرح العمراني، ومع ذلك فإن لكتاب البيان أهميةً كبيرةً؛ فهو من كتب الموسوعات الفقهيَّة الجامعة في المذهب الشافعي والمذاهب الأُخرى، وهو من المصادر الثَّريَّة الَّتي حوت نقولاً عزيزة، وتفريعات عديدة، حتَّى قيل فيه: (إنه لم يُنسج على مِنواله، ولم يأت الزَّمان بمِثاله). …

Al-Bayan by Imam Jurist Abu Al-Khair Yahya Al-Omrani Al-Yamani Al-Shafi’i (489-558 AH), is an encyclopedic book in Shafi’i jurisprudence, and it is an explanation of the book Al-Muhadhdhab by Abu Ishaq Al-Shirazi (who died in the year 467 AH). Imam Al-Nawawi (d. 676 AH) also explained the book Al-Muhadhdhab and called it “Al-Majmu’ Sharh Al-Muhadhdhab.” Al-Nawawi’s explanation was more famous than Al-Umrani’s explanation. However, The book Al-Bayan is of great importance. It is one of the books of comprehensive jurisprudential encyclopedias in the Shafi’i school of thought and other schools of thought, and it is one of the rich sources that contains valuable sayings and many branches, to the point where it was said: (He was not woven in his style, and time has not brought an example of him). …
