The book “Al-Darari Al-Madiya Sharh Al-Durar Al-Bahiyya” by Imam Al-Shawkani is an extensive explanation of general jurisprudence, covering the rulings on purity and prayer in detail. The book begins with the chapter on the rulings on water, where the jurisprudential rule states that water is pure and purified, and nothing changes it from this characteristic unless one of its three descriptions (smell, color, or taste) changes due to impurity, citing evidence from the Qur’an, Sunnah, and consensus. The explanation aims to clarify jurisprudential issues and edit evidence, while discussing different opinions and giving preference to the stronger ones.
