About this work

هذا كتاب في علم تثليث الكلام، وهو فن يبحث في الألفاظ العربية التي تختلف معانيها باختلاف حركاتها الثلاث (الفتح والضم والكسر). قسّمه المؤلف ابن مالك إلى قسمين رئيسين: الأول للمُثلث المتفق المعاني، والثاني للمُثلث المختلف المعاني، ورتب الثاني على أبواب بحسب الحرف الأول من الكلمة. يهدف الكتاب إلى جمع شتات هذا الفن وتكميل ما فات غيره من المصنفين فيه، مع بيان فوائده في تمييز المعاني المتشابهة وانقيادها للدارس.

Translation

This is a book on the science of speech triangulation, which is an art that studies Arabic words whose meanings differ depending on their three vowels (fathah, dhammah, and kasra). The author Ibn Malik divided it into two main sections: the first for the triangle with similar meanings, and the second for the triangle with different meanings, and the second was arranged into sections according to the first letter of the word. The book aims to collect the fragments of this art and complement what other authors have missed, while explaining its benefits in distinguishing similar meanings and making them accessible to the student.
