This book is an investigation and study of the issue of wiping over socks and sandals during ablution, written by the scholar Muhammad Jamal al-Din al-Qasimi. The author begins by rooting the issue legally, explaining that the rulings are due to the Holy Book, then he reviews the evidence of surveying from the Qur’an and Sunnah, conveying the opinions of the Companions and scholars on that matter. The book falls within the modern jurisprudential classification, and aims to give weight to the view that it is permissible to wipe over socks based on Sharia texts.
