The book “Dumming the World” by Ibn Abi Al-Dunya is a book on asceticism and gentleness. It collects prophetic hadiths and narrations from the Companions and Followers warning about this world and abstaining from it, and explaining its disgrace to God Almighty, citing examples from the guidance of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the words of the predecessors.
