The book “The Palace of Hope” by Ibn Abi Al-Dunya is a book of revelations and preaching, collecting hadiths and hadiths urging shortening hope in this world and preparing for the afterlife. The book addresses topics such as taking the initiative to do good deeds, condemning procrastination and postponement, and forbidding extravagance in construction and attachment to the world. The book begins with a prophetic commandment by Abdullah bin Omar calling for living life as a stranger or a passerby, and not exhausting oneself with long hopes.
