This book is written by Ibn Taymiyyah, and it responds and criticizes the beliefs of the Nusayri sect (Alawites) as stated in a question directed to him. The book describes their alleged beliefs in the permissibility of alcohol, the transmigration of souls, the antiquity of the world, the denial of resurrection, their interpretation of acts of worship such as prayer and fasting in the names of people, and their claim to the divinity of Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him. The book also discusses their concept of the name and meaning in the roles of the prophets, basing its criticism on what it sees as a distortion of the Islamic faith.
