درء تعارض العقل والنقل أو «موافقة صحيح المنقول لصريح المعقول» أو «الجمع بين العقل والنقل»: هو اسم كتاب يعدُّ من أنفس كتب ابن تيمية، كما صرح بذلك معظم الذين ترجموا له. وموضوعه: كما يدل عنوانه هو دفع التعارض الذي أقامه المتكلمون والفلاسفة بين العقل والنقل -أي الكتاب والسنة-، فيقرر ابن تيمية الأدلة السمعية، ويبرهن على إفادتها القطع واليقين، فيقول: «أما كتابنا هذا فهو في بيان انتفاء المعارض العقلي وإبطال قول من زعم تقديم الأدلة العقلية مطلقاً». …

Preventing the conflict of reason and transmission, or “the agreement of the authentic transmitted with the clear and reasonable” or “the combination of reason and transmission”: is the name of a book that is considered one of the most valuable books of Ibn Taymiyyah, as stated by most of those who translated it. Its subject: as its title indicates, it is to refute the contradiction established by theologians and philosophers between reason and transmission - that is, the Qur’an and the Sunnah - so Ibn Taymiyyah confirms the auditory evidence, and proves its benefit with certainty and certainty.
