This book is a fatwa by Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah on the issue of prayer after the first call to prayer on Friday, where he examines the ruling on this prayer and whether it was reported from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, the Companions, or the Imams. The author reviews the evidence from the Sunnah, the sayings of the Companions, and the schools of jurisprudence, and discusses the inference of the hadith “between every two calls to prayer,” and the extent of its generality or specificity to Friday. The author concludes that the majority of imams agree that there is no temporary year estimated before Friday, while mentioning the opinions of those who disagree and discussing their evidence.
