The question of whether the servant has love for what he is

This book by Ibn Taymiyyah addresses the issue of the servant having love for things that are good, right, and praiseworthy in themselves, such as benevolence, knowledge, and honesty, regardless of whether they are for God or for others. The author discusses the psychological motives for this love, and classifies the methods of knowledge into three: sight, hearing, and reason (the heart).
