Translation

This is the second part of the dictionary of the sheikhs of Al-Hafiz Abd al-Mu’min bin Khalaf al-Dumyati. It is a hadith manuscript that includes a list of the names of the sheikhs he met and narrated from, arranged according to the letters of the dictionary. The manuscript begins with a translation by its sheikh, Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Tilmisani, and its chain of transmission goes to Imam Malik bin Anas, which indicates his care in narrating the hadith with its continuous chains of transmission. The book combines historical documentation of the names of the narrators and a statement of their classes, and represents an important source in the science of men and the knowledge of the sheikhs of the hadith scholars of his time.
