Part Six of the Baghdadi Sheikhdom

This is the sixth part of “The Baghdadi Sheikhs” by Al-Hafiz Abu Tahir Al-Salafi. It is a hadith manuscript that includes a group of hadiths and chain of transmission that the author heard or was approved by the sheikhs of Baghdad. The book begins with a hadith about raising the hands in prayer, and the table of contents includes chains of transmission from a number of hadith scholars, such as Abu Abbas al-Basir al-Razi, Ibn al-Tuwayri, and Abu Bakr al-Khatib, which makes it an example of dictionary or sheikh books that collect the narrations of a specific narrator from his sheikhs.
