This hadith manuscript, entitled “The Selected Benefits and the Beautiful Strangeties Called the Sheikhdom of Mosul,” was produced by Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Fahm al-Abbasi al-Dimashqi. It includes a collection of prophetic hadiths and the transmitted benefits that the author narrated on the authority of his sheikhs, with special attention to mentioning their chains of transmission and the methods of narrating them. The book begins with narrations and authorizations transmitted by his students, then he cites hadiths with continuous chains of transmission to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, making it a model for hadith sheikhs that collect the narrations of one narrator about his sheikhs in a specific country.
