The book “The Selected Hadiths” or “The Extracts from the Hadiths” is a collection of hadith texts, compiled by Al-Hafiz Diya’ al-Din al-Maqdisi, and he specializes in the hadiths that were not included by Imams al-Bukhari and Muslim in their Sahihs, with the exception of some outstanding hadiths or those with defects that the author explains. The book begins with hadiths narrated on the authority of Caliph Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him, and then deals with the narrations of a number of companions and followers, arranged according to the narrators of each companion.
