The book “Al-Kunya wa Al-Asmaa” by Al-Dulabi is a work of Hadith science, specializing in collecting and arranging the names of the Companions and narrators and their nicknames. The book begins by mentioning the nickname of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the hadiths contained in the prohibition of combining his name with his nickname. Then it lists the names of the Companions in order according to their nicknames, beginning with the major companions such as the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and following that by mentioning those of the Companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, known by the nickname.
