Al-Mu'jam Al-Awsat by Al-Tabarani is one of the most extensive books of hadith attributed to the Sunnis and the community. It was compiled by Imam Abu al-Qasim Suleiman bin Ahmad bin Ayyub al-Tabarani, and arranged it in the manner of dictionaries, that is, he arranged it according to the order of the names of his sheikhs from whom he narrated the texts based on the letters of the dictionary. Al-Tabarani said about him: “This book is spiritual,” because he worked hard on it. The book contains 9489 supported texts. Some of them are marfoo’, suspended, or cut off. Al-Tabarani directed his attention in this book to a collection, just as he took great care in it to collect it in which he brings about each sheikh’s strangeness, wonders, and benefits of the sheikhs.
