A comprehensive statement of knowledge and its virtues

Jami' Bayan Bayan al-Ilm wa its Virtues is a book about the virtue of knowledge and its pursuit, written by Al-Hafiz Ibn Abd al-Barr (368 AH - 463 AH). The author mentions the meaning of knowledge and the virtue of seeking it and the praise of striving for it and taking care of it. He explains the corruption of saying about God's religion without knowledge and the prohibition of ruling without proof or evidence. Ibn Abd al-Barr also spoke about the etiquette of learning and what the scholar and learner must adhere to and persevere in, citing many prophetic hadiths and traces on this subject.
