The book “Disadvantages and Reprehensible Morals” by Al-Kharaiti is a collection of hadith texts, collecting prophetic hadiths that condemn bad morals and warn against them. The book begins with a chapter on the hatred of bad character, then it deals with hatred and censure of a number of evils such as cursing, cursing, obscenity, lying, backbiting, gossip, disobedience to one’s parents, severing family ties, hypocrisy, anger, miserliness, bad neighbourliness, and other moral evils, with a mention of what was mentioned in the severity of some of them, such as adultery and sodomy.
