كتاب «العقل والهوى» للترمذي الحكيم هو مؤلف أدبي‑روحي يضع إطاراً تحليلياً للعقل ومقابلاته للهوى، مستنداً إلى قائمة من خمسين معاوناً للعقل. يتناول الكتاب تفسيرات مفصلة لمفاهيم الفهم والبصر والمعرفة واليقين والفقه والوقف والحلم والإلهام والإخلاص والتواضع والسخاوة والصواب، مع توضيح معارضها من الهوى. يندرج العمل ضمن تصنيف الرقاق والآداب والأذكار، ويعتمد أسلوباً منهجياً في عرض الفروق بين العقل والهوى.
Translation
The book “Reason and Passion” by Al-Tirmidhi Al-Hakim is a literary-spiritual work that sets an analytical framework for the mind and its counterparts to passion, based on a list of fifty assistants to the mind. The book deals with detailed explanations of the concepts of understanding, sight, knowledge, certainty, jurisprudence, endowment, dream, inspiration, sincerity, humility, generosity, and correctness, with an explanation of their opposition to passion. The work falls within the classification of rituals, etiquette, and remembrances, and adopts a systematic approach in presenting the differences between reason and passion.
