About this work

أدب الدنيا والدين هو كتابٌ من تأليف أبي الحسن الماوردي، جمع فيه من الآداب والأخلاق الكثير، من آيات القرآن الكريم، والحديث النبوي، ثم بأمثال الحكماء، وآداب البلغاء، وأقوال الشعراء. سماه في الأصل كتاب البغية العليا في أدب الدين والدنيا، ولكن الاسم الذي شاع بين الناس هو كتاب أدب الدنيا والدين.

Translation

The Literature of the World and Religion is a book written by Abu Al-Hasan Al-Mawardi, in which he collected a lot of etiquette and morals, from verses of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s hadith, then the proverbs of the wise, the etiquette of rhetoricians, and the sayings of poets. He originally called it the Book of the Supreme Pursuit of the Literature of Religion and the World, but the name that became popular among the people was the Book of the Literature of the World and Religion.
