Translation
The book “Smash Your Idol and Be Small with Yourself” by the writer Magdy Al-Hilali presents an Islamic study on the danger of self-admiration and hidden polytheism, based on what was stated in the introduction and the chapters that deal with the causes of self-aggrandizement, from ignorance of God and the self to neglecting self-purification and multiple praise and authority. It highlights examples from reality to illustrate the disease of self-conceit and how it leads to the corruption of good deeds, targeting preachers, scholars, worshipers, writers, and people with talent. It aims to guide the reader to avoid self-aggrandizement and enhance devotion to God through deep awareness of the effects of hidden polytheism on behavior and good deeds.
