The book Condemning Passions, by Ibn al-Jawzi, is classified under Al-Riqaq, Etiquette, and Remembrances, and is considered a book concerned with studying the mind and its virtues, condemning passions and desires, struggling with the soul and holding it accountable, in addition to other topics such as patience, guarding the heart, turning hearts, and the desire to God Almighty to reform them. It seems that the book aims to provide advice and guidance to the reader on how to deal with passion and desires, fight the self, and motivate the reader to be patient and draw closer to God. The book contains several sections that address multiple topics, and it seems that the author has made an effort to compile these topics to present a comprehensive book that addresses important spiritual and moral issues.
