About this work
Translation
The book “Al-Istiktar” is an encyclopedic explanation of Imam Malik’s Muwatta, written and arranged by Ibn Abd al-Barr at the chapters of Muwatta. The author aims to explain the transmitted and transmitted hadiths contained in Al-Muwatta, while adding an explanation of the sayings of the Companions and Followers and Malik’s jurisprudential opinions on which he based his doctrine. The book begins with the chapter on prayer times and rulings, then moves to the book on purity and the related chapters on ablution, wiping, and nosebleeds, to combine hadith synthesis and jurisprudential analysis.
