Investigations of Interpretation by Ibn al-Muzaffar al-Razi is a book in the field of interpretations that specializes in explaining the Holy Qur’an in a critical and analytical manner. It opens with the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, then moves to Surah al-Fatihah, in which it deals with linguistic and grammatical issues related to the basmala and the name. This is followed by detailed chapters for both Meccan and Medinan surahs from Al-Baqarah to Al-Anfal, including passages based on Qur’anic verses and discussing the meanings of words and their interpretations according to the opinions of jurists and linguists. The book stands out through its observations on the origins of names and the origins of words and its comparison between different sects, which makes it an important reference for researchers in the sciences of the Qur’an and the Arabic language.
