معاني القرآن وإعرابه المسمى المختصر في إعراب القرآن ومعانيه، هو كتاب موضوعه إعراب القرآن الكريم وبيان معانيه، فقد أعرب فيه المؤلف جملًا كثيرة من ألفاظ القرآن الكريم وكذلك وضح المعاني الواردة في القرآن الكريم من خلال شرحه للآيات والألفاظ القرآنية. وقد صنّف الزجاج هذا الكتاب «معاني القرآن» وذكر أنه أراد منه أن يبين معانيه وإعرابه بالقصد الأول ومعرفة تفسيره بالقصد الثاني، لذلك تجد أكثر ما في الكتاب يتعلّق بالنحو واللغة والصرف مع الاستفادة مما ورد عن السلف في التفسير في ترجيح هذا القول أو ذاك.
Translation
The meanings of the Qur’an and its parsing, called The Brief on the Parsing of the Qur’an and Its Meanings, is a book whose subject is parsing the Holy Qur’an and explaining its meanings. In it, the author expressed many sentences of the words of the Holy Qur’an and also clarified the meanings contained in the Holy Qur’an through his explanation of the Qur’anic verses and words. Al-Zajjaj classified this book, “The Meanings of the Qur’an,” and stated that he wanted it to explain its meanings and parsing with the first intention and to know its interpretation with the second intention. Therefore, you will find most of what is in the book related to grammar, language, and morphology, while benefiting from what was reported from the predecessors in interpretation in giving preference to this or that statement.
