كتاب "الترغيب والترهيب" للمؤلف إسماعيل الأصبهاني هو مصنف في باب التخريج والزوائد، جمع فيه مؤلفه الأحاديث والآثار التي تحث على الأعمال الصالحة والأقوال الحسنة (الترغيب)، وتحذر من الأعمال السيئة والأقوال القبيحة (الترهيب)، مع ذكر ما ورد في ذلك من ثواب وعقاب. وقد رتب المؤلف أبوابه على حروف المعجم (أ، ب، ت، ث) ليسهل على الطالب الاهتداء إليها، مقدمًا في كل باب ما ورد من ترغيب ثم ما ورد من ترهيب.

Translation

The book “Al-Targhib wa Al-Tarheeb” by the author Ismail Al-Asbahani is a book in the section on graduation and additions, in which his author collected hadiths and traditions that encourage good deeds and good words (al-Targhib), and warn against bad deeds and ugly words (al-Tarheeb), along with mentioning the rewards and punishments mentioned in that. The author has arranged his chapters according to the letters of the dictionary (A, B, T, T) to make it easier for the student to find them, presenting in each chapter the encouragement mentioned, then the intimidation mentioned.
