Translation

The book “Al-Maqasid Al-Hasanah fi Explaining Many of the Hadiths That Are Famous on the Languages” by Al-Hafiz Shams al-Din al-Sakhawi is a comprehensive work in the science of hadith grading. It aims to clarify the authenticity or weakness of hadiths spread among people, while taking care to mention the evidence, chains of transmission, and places of grading in approved books. The book is distinguished by its editing and mastery, and Ibn al-Imad al-Hanbali described it as the most comprehensive of al-Suyuti’s book “Al-Durar Al-Manthara” in this section, with the presence in each of them of what is not in the other.
