هذا كتاب تراجم يخص الإمام محيي الدين النووي، جمع فيه المؤلف السخاوي سيرته وأخباره، معتمداً على ما أفرده تلميذه علاء الدين ابن العطار مع زيادات ميزها بقوله "قلت". يبدأ الكتاب بذكر نسب النووي ومولده ونشأته، ثم يتناول شيوخه وتصانيفه ووظائفه وتلاميذه، وصولاً إلى صفاته ومناقبه وزهده وورعه وكراماته، مع إفراد كلام العلماء في كتبه ومن ترجم له.

Translation

This is a book of biographies related to Imam Muhyi al-Din al-Nawawi, in which the author al-Sakhawi collected his biography and narrations, relying on what his student Ala al-Din Ibn al-Attar included, with additions that he distinguished by saying, “I said.” The book begins by mentioning Al-Nawawi’s lineage, birth, and upbringing, then addresses his sheikhs, classifications, jobs, and disciples, arriving at his qualities, virtues, asceticism, piety, and dignity, singling out the words of the scholars in his books and those who translated him.
