الدرر الكامنة في أعيان المائة الثامنة كتاب يبحث في علم التراجم ألفه الحافظ ابن حجر العسقلاني (773 هـ-852 هـ)، جمع فيه المؤلف تراجم من كان في المائة الثامنة من الهجرة النبوية من ابتداء سنة 701 إلى آخر سنة 800 من الأعيان والعلماء والملوك والأمراء والكتاب والوزراء والأدباء والشعراء، وعني برواة الحديث النبوي فذكر من اطلع على حاله وأشار إلى بعض مروياته. وقد ألف المؤلف الكتاب في ستة أجزاء. وقد أتبع المؤلف كتابه بمجلد خاص أسماه ذيل الدرر الكامنة في أعيان المائة التاسعة، إذ ترجم فيه لأعيان القرن التاسع إلى عام 832 على غرار أعيان المائة الثامنة، لكنه رتبه على السنين.

Translation

The Pearls Hidden in Notables of the Eighth Hundred is a book examining the science of translations, written by Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani (773 AH - 852 AH). In it, the author collected the biographies of those who were in the eighth hundred of the Prophet’s Hijrah from the beginning of the year 701 to the end of the year 800, from notables, scholars, kings, princes, writers, ministers, writers, and poets. He focused on the narrators of the Prophet’s hadith, so he mentioned those who were familiar with its condition and referred to some of its narrations. The author wrote the book in six parts. The author followed his book with a special volume called the tail of the pearls hidden in the notables of the ninth century, in which he translated the notables of the ninth century to the year 832 in the same manner as the notables of the eighth century, but he arranged them according to the years.
