الضوء اللامع لأهل القرن التاسع هو كتاب في التاريخ ألفه شمس الدين السخاوي. وهو أوسع مصدر في تاريخ القرون الوسطى الإسلامية. فقد بلغ عدد التراجم فيه (11699) ترجمة. وترجم فيه للعلماء والقضاة، والرواة، والأدباء، والشعراء، والخلفاء، والملوك، والوزراء، من أهل مصر والشام والحجاز واليمن والروم والهند، شرقاً وغرباً، رجالاً ونساءً، ممن توفوا في هذا العصر، أو تأخروا إلى القرن العاشر : وسرد ـ في ترجمة كل واحد ـ محفوظاته وشيوخه ومصنفاته، وأحواله ومولده ووفاته، وقد خصص الجزء الحادى عشر منه للكنى، والثاني عشر للنساء. …

The Shining Light of the People of the Ninth Century is a book on history written by Shams al-Din al-Sakhawi. It is the most extensive source in the history of the Islamic Middle Ages. The number of translations in it reached (11,699). In it, he translated for scholars, judges, narrators, writers, poets, caliphs, kings, and ministers, from the people of Egypt, the Levant, the Hijaz, Yemen, the Romans, and India, east and west, men and women, who died in this era, or who delayed until the tenth century. He listed - in translating each one - his archives, his sheikhs, his works, his circumstances, his birth, and his death, and the eleventh part of it was devoted to nicknames.
