المقصد الأرشد في ذكر أصحاب الإمام أحمد هو كتاب تراجم وطبقات يجمع فيه ابن مفلح برهان الدين سيرة أصحاب الإمام أحمد بن حنبل، مرتّباًها وفق حروف المعجم لتسهيل التنقل بينها. يشتمل المحتوى على فهرس مفصل يبدأ بحرف الألف ويستمر حتى حرف العين، مع ذكر أسماء شخصيات متعددة مثل إبراهيم وإسحاق وإسماعيل والحسين وعبيد الله وغيرهم. يهدف المؤلف إلى إفادة القارئ في معرفة نسب وأقوال وتفاصيل أصحاب الإمام من خلال أسلوب سردي يراعي الدقة والموثوقية.

The most reasonable purpose in mentioning the companions of Imam Ahmad is a book of biographies and classes in which Ibn Muflih Burhan al-Din collects the biographies of the companions of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, arranging them according to the letters of the dictionary to facilitate navigation between them. The content includes a detailed index that begins with the letter Alif and continues until the letter Ayn, mentioning the names of multiple figures such as Abraham, Isaac, Ismail, Hussein, Ubaid Allah, and others. The author aims to benefit the reader in knowing the lineage, sayings, and details of the Imam’s companions through a narrative style that takes into account accuracy and reliability.
