كتاب «بحر الدم فيمن تكلم فيه الإمام أحمد بمدح أو ذم» للكاتب ابن المبرد يُعَدُّ من التراجم والطبقات، حيث يجمع ويُفصِّل ما ذكره الإمام أحمد من مدح أو ذم لأصحابه وشخصياته، مرتّبًا الأسماء وفق الحروف الأبجدية العربية. يشتمل على مقدمة تُعرِّف بالمؤلف وسيرته، ثم يتبعها فصولٌ تُقسَّم بحسب كل حرف من الحروف، ما يُتيح للقارئ استعراضًا منهجيًا للطبقات المرتبطة بحديث الإمام.

The book “Bahr al-Dam regarding those about whom Imam Ahmad spoke in praise or censure” by the writer Ibn al-Mubarrad is considered one of the biographies and classes, as it collects and details what Imam Ahmad mentioned in terms of praising or censuring his companions and personalities, arranging the names according to the letters of the Arabic alphabet. It includes an introduction that introduces the author and his biography, then is followed by chapters divided according to each letter, allowing the reader a systematic review of the layers associated with the Imam’s hadith.
