كتاب «تاريخ الثقات» للعجلي يُعنى بتجميع وتوثيق سيرة الثقات في علم الحديث، مستنداً إلى قواعد الإسناد والجرح والتعديل التي يوضحها في مقدمة الكتاب. يُرتّب المؤلف الثقات وفق ترتيب أبجديٍ عربيٍ مفصلٍ بحسب الحروف، مُقدِّماً شرحاً لدرجات التوثيق ومقارنةً بين المصادر المختلفة. يهدف العمل إلى إرشاد الباحثين إلى ما يُستحب من الرواية عن الثقات وتجنّب الضعفاء، مع إشارة إلى الكتب المتخصصة في الجرح والتعديل والطبقات.

Translation

The book “The History of Trustworthy Persons” by Al-Ijali is concerned with compiling and documenting the biography of trustworthy people in the science of hadith, based on the rules of chain of transmission, narration, and modification that he explains in the introduction to the book. The author arranges the trustworthy documents according to a detailed Arabic alphabetical order by letter, providing an explanation of the degrees of authentication and a comparison between the different sources. The work aims to guide researchers to what is desirable from narrations from trustworthy people and to avoid weak ones, with reference to books specializing in jarh, ta’deel, and classes.
