ديوان الإسلام لِشمس الدين ابن الغزي هو عمل من نوع التراجم والطبقات يهدف إلى جمع سيرة وأسماء وألقاب وكنى وأنساب وأبناء شخصيات إسلامية معروفة، مرتبة حسب الحروف الأبجدية العربية. يفتتح الكتاب بتمجيد سيرة النبي محمد ثم ينتقل إلى ذكر المشاهير من مختلف الفنون والعلوم والوظائف في الدولة الإسلامية، مع إشارة إلى أصولهم ومكانتهم. كل حرف يُقسم إلى خمسة فصول تفصل بين الأسماء والألقاب والكنى والأنساب والأبناء، ما يُسهل الاستفادة منه كمرجع لتحديد هوية وترجمة أي شخصية مذكورة.

Translation

Diwan al-Islam by Shams al-Din Ibn al-Ghazi is a work of the type of biographies and classes that aims to collect the biographies, names, titles, nicknames, genealogies, and children of well-known Islamic figures, arranged according to the letters of the Arabic alphabet. The book opens by glorifying the biography of the Prophet Muhammad and then moves on to mention celebrities from various arts, sciences, and jobs in the Islamic State, with an indication of their origins and status. Each character is divided into five chapters that separate names, titles, nicknames, lineages, and children, making it easy to use as a reference for identifying and translating any character mentioned.
