سير أعلام النبلاء هو كتاب في علم التراجم ألّفه الحافظ أبو عبد الله شمس الدين الذهبي (ت 748 هـ)، ويُعَدُّ من أهم كتب التراجم في التراث الإسلامي. جمع فيه المؤلف سير أعلام المسلمين عبر التاريخ الإسلامي حتى عصره، ورتب التراجم ترتيباً زمنياً بحسب الطبقات، بحيث يشكّل مرجعاً واسعاً في تراجم العلماء والأمراء والأدباء والزهاد. يقع الكتاب في أربعة عشر مجلداً، خُصِّص المجلدان الأولان منهما لعرض سيرة النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وسير الخلفاء الراشدين، وقد استمدهما الذهبي من كتابه الأوسع التاريخ. …

Biographies of Noble Figures is a book on biographies written by Al-Hafiz Abu Abdullah Shams al-Din al-Dhahabi (d. 748 AH), and it is considered one of the most important books of biographies in the Islamic heritage. In it, the author collected the biographies of prominent Muslims throughout Islamic history up to his time, and arranged the biographies chronologically according to classes, so that it constitutes a broad reference in the biographies of scholars, princes, writers, and ascetics. The book is divided into fourteen volumes, the first two of which are devoted to presenting the biography of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the biographies of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and Al-Dhahabi derived them from his broader book, History. …
