ميزان الاعتدال في نقد الرجال هو كتاب في الجرح والتعديل ألفه الحافظ أبي عبد الله محمد بن أحمد بن عثمان بن قايماز شمس الدين الذهبي، وهو كتاب جامع لنقد رواة الآثار حاو لتراجم ائمة الأخبار، ألفه الذهبي بعد تأليفه «المغني في الضعفاء» الذي اعتمد فيه على كثير من المراجع، وقد زاد في «الميزان» رجالا لم يكن ذكرهم في «المغني»، وقد ذكر المؤلف في الكتاب الرواة: الكذابين، والمتروكين، والضعفاء، وعلى الحفاظ الذين في دينهم رقة، وعلى من يقبل في الشواهد، وعلى الصادقين أو المستورين الذين فيهم لين، والمجهولين، والثقات الذين تكلم فيهم من لا يلتفت إليه. …

The Mizan of Moderation in Criticism of Men is a book on wounds and modifications written by Al-Hafiz Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Uthman bin Qaymaz Shams al-Din al-Dhahabi. It is a comprehensive book of criticism of narrators of narrations and includes biographies of imams of hadiths. Al-Dhahabi wrote it after writing “Al-Mughni fi Al-Du`fa’a” in which he relied on many references. He added to “Al-Mizan” men who were not mentioned in “Al-Mughni.” The author mentioned in the book narrators: liars, abandoned, And the weak, and the conservative ones whose religion is gentle, and the ones who accept the evidence, and the truthful or the hidden ones who are soft, and the unknowns, and the trustworthy ones who are spoken about by someone who does not pay attention to him. …
