هذا الكتاب "البدء والتاريخ" للمؤلف المقدسي، المطهر بن طاهر، يُصنف ضمن فئة التاريخ. يُعد هذا الكتاب من أهم المصادر التاريخية في الفترة التي كتبت فيها، حيث يغطي موضوعات متعددة مثل تاريخ الخلق، صفات الله، النبوة، وتاريخ الإسلام. يبدأ الكتاب بفصول متعلقة بالعقل والمعقول والحس والمحسوس، ثم ينتقل إلى الفصول المتعلقة بالبارئ وتوحيد الصانع، صفاته وأسمائه، تثبيت الرسالة وإيجاب النبوة، وذكر ابتداء الخلق. يُظهر الكتاب إهتماما كبيرا بالمناظرة والجدل، حيث يُحذّر من إفساد عقيدة الأغبياء وتلبيس الحق على الضعفاء. يُعتبر هذا الكتاب مصدرا قيمًا للفهم التاريخي والفلسفي في الفترة التي كتبت فيها.

This book, “The Beginning and History,” by the Jerusalemite author, Al-Mutahhar bin Taher, is classified under the category of history. This book is considered one of the most important historical sources of the period in which it was written, as it covers multiple topics such as the history of creation, the attributes of God, prophecy, and the history of Islam. The book begins with chapters related to the mind, the intelligible, the senses, and the sensed, then moves to the chapters related to the Creator, the monotheism of the Maker, his attributes and names, confirming the message and affirming prophecy, and mentioning the beginning of creation. The book shows great interest in debate and controversy, as it warns against corrupting the doctrine of fools and distorting the truth for the weak. This book is a valuable source for historical and philosophical understanding of the period in which it was written.
