هذا الكتاب دراسة علمية متخصصة في علوم الحديث، تتناول حياة الإمام أبي الحسن الدارقطني ومكانته العلمية، مع التركيز على منهجه في كتابه "السنن". يوضح البحث أن مقصد الدارقطني من كتابه لم يكن جمع الأحاديث الصحيحة للاحتجاج بها كبقية كتب السنن، بل جمع الأحاديث المعلولة ورواياتها، مستثنياً الصحيح منها إلا لضرورة علمية كالمقابلة أو التصحيح. كما يستعرض الكتاب جوانب من سيرة الدارقطني، كطلبه للعلم ورحلاته وشيوخه، وصفاته كالورع والذكاء.

Translation

This book is a specialized scientific study in the sciences of hadith, dealing with the life of Imam Abu Al-Hasan Al-Daraqutni and his scholarly status, with a focus on his approach in his book “Al-Sunan.” The research makes it clear that Al-Daraqutni’s purpose in his book was not to collect authentic hadiths to use as evidence, like the rest of the Sunan books, but rather to collect invalid hadiths and their narrations, excluding the authentic ones except for scientific necessity such as a comparison or correction. The book also reviews aspects of Al-Daraqutni’s biography, such as his pursuit of knowledge, his travels, his sheikhs, and his qualities such as piety and intelligence.
