الجامع لأخلاق الراوي وآداب السامع. كتاب في علوم الحديث ألفه الخطيب البغدادي، بين فيه أخلاق الراوي وآداب السامع وما يجب عليهما ويستحب منهما ويكره لهما إذ لا غناء لأحد من أصحاب الحديث عن معرفة ذلك. فلقد استوفى الخطيب البغدادي في هذا الكتاب ذكر ما ينبغي للمحدث وطالب الحديث أن يتحليا به من الآداب والواجبات التي تقتضيها صنعة التحديث؛ بل أفاض في ذلك، وجمع فأوعى، ولم يبق زيادة لمستزيد، والحقيقة التي لا مرية فيها أن الكتاب يشفي - في موضوعه - كل من أراد النهاية في هذا البحث، والوصول إلى أعماق هذا الموضوع.

Translation

It combines the morals of the narrator and the morals of the listener. A book on the sciences of hadith written by Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi, in which he explained the morals of the narrator and the etiquette of the listener and what is obligatory, desirable and disliked for them, since there is no need for any of the scholars of hadith to know that. In this book, Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi has fully mentioned the etiquette and duties required by the hadith scholar and the student of hadith. Rather, he expanded on it, and collected and comprehended it, and there was nothing left to add, and the unquestionable truth is that the book satisfies - in its subject matter - everyone who wants the end in this research, and access to the depths of this topic.
