كتاب في علوم الحديث، يختص بدراسة نوع من أنواع علوم الحديث وهو الحديث المضطرب، فيعرف به لغة واصطلاحاً، ويبين أنواع الاضطراب وأحكامه، ويوضح قواعد الاضطراب في السند والمتن معاً أو في كل منهما على حدة، ثم يخصص قسماً ثانياً للرواة الموصوفين بالاضطراب.
