The book “A Dialogue about the Methodology of the Hadith scholars in Criticizing Narrations in the Sanad and the Text” by Abdullah Al-Ruhaili is a work in the sciences of hadith. It presents a dialogue that took place between the author and one of those interested in the method of criticism among the hadith scholars, in which he deals with the relationship between the criticism of the chain of transmission and the criticism of the text, and the extent of their complementarity in distinguishing authentic narrations from their invalid ones. The book also includes two appendices on the importance of verification in the narration and reflections on the features of the hadith scholars’ approach, relying on rational critical questions within faith controls.
