Translation
This book, written by Saleh bin Hamid Al-Rifai, is a study in Hadith sciences that deals with two basic aspects of memorizing the Sunnah of the Prophet. The first chapter examines the scholars’ attention to chain of transmission, explaining its definition, its importance, its being one of the characteristics of the Islamic nation, and its impact on preserving the Sunnah. The second chapter deals with the science of jarh and amendment, touching on its definition, the reasons for its appearance, the attention of scholars to it, and its impact in distinguishing authentic narrations from invalid ones.
