هذا كتاب في علوم الحديث يبحث في مسألة كتابة الحديث النبوي، فيستعرض الأدلة الواردة في النهي عن الكتابة والأدلة الواردة في الإذن بها، ثم يعرض موقف العلماء من هذه الأحاديث وطرق الجمع بينها. يبدأ الكتاب بتعريف الكتابة لغة واصطلاحًا وإطلاقاتها في الشرع، ثم يتناول علاقة العرب بالكتابة زمن البعثة، وفضل الكتابة وأثرها في حفظ العلم، قبل أن يفصل في الأحاديث الواردة في الباب ويفهمها على ضوء أقوال العلماء.

Translation

This is a book on the sciences of hadith that examines the issue of writing down the Prophet’s hadith. It reviews the evidence contained in the prohibition of writing and the evidence contained in permitting it, and then presents the scholars’ position on these hadiths and ways to combine them. The book begins by defining writing linguistically and terminologically and its references in Sharia law. Then it deals with the Arabs’ relationship with writing at the time of the mission, and the virtue of writing and its impact on preserving knowledge, before detailing the hadiths mentioned in the chapter and understanding them in the light of the scholars’ sayings.
