About this work
كتاب في علوم القرآن، يختص بذكر القراءات القرآنية السبع المشهورة وأئمتها. يبدأ المؤلف ببيان اختلاف الناس في القراءة كاختلافهم في الأحكام، ويصف منازل حملة القرآن ودرجاتهم في العلم والإتقان. ثم يخصص الكتاب لذكر أئمة القراء في الأمصار (المدينة، مكة، الكوفة، البصرة، الشام) وأنسابهم وأساتذتهم وتلاميذهم، مع سرد الأسانيد التي نقلت عنهم.
Translation
A book on the sciences of the Qur’an, specializing in mentioning the seven famous Qur’anic recitations and their imams. The author begins by explaining people's differences in recitation as well as their differences in rulings, and describes the positions of the people of the Qur'an and their degrees in knowledge and mastery. Then the book is devoted to mentioning the imams of reciters in the cities (Medina, Mecca, Kufa, Basra, and the Levant), their lineages, teachers, and students, along with listing the chains of transmission that were quoted from them.
