About this work
ناسخ القرآن العزيز ومنسوخه: لابن البارزي هبة الله بن عبد الرحيم الحموي، مفتي الشام وقاضيها وانتهت إليه الإمامة في زمانه، توفي سنة ثمان وثلاثين وسبعمائة. وقد امتاز هذا الكتاب بأن عدد المواضع المنسوخة فيه هي مائتان وتسعة وأربعون موضعا، وهو بهذا العدد الكبير قد فاق سابقيه واللاحقين عليه، وكذا ذكر مواضع منسوخة لم يشر إليها غيره. ومن محاسن المؤلف أيضا في هذا الكتاب رسمه للمنهج في مقدمة كتابه فقال: «وسنذكر جميع المواضع المنسوخة على ترتيب السور، ونذكر مع كل منسوخ ما نسخه، ونعين اسم السورة التي فيها الناسخ إن لم يكن من سورة المنسوخ». وقد التزم بذلك إلا في خمسة مواضع.
Translation
The transcriber and abrogator of the Mighty Qur’an: Ibn al-Barazi, Hibat Allah ibn Abd al-Rahim al-Hamawi, the mufti and judge of the Levant and the imamate of the Levant in his time. He died in the year seven hundred and thirty-eight. This book is distinguished by the fact that the number of abrogated places in it is two hundred and forty-nine places, and with this large number it exceeds its predecessors and successors, and it also mentioned abrogated places that no one else referred to. One of the merits of the author in this book is that he outlined the method in the introduction to his book, saying: “We will mention all the abrogated places in the order of the surahs, and we mention with each abrogated one what it abrogated, and we specify the name of the surah in which the abrogated one is, if it is not from the abrogated surah.” He adhered to this except in five places.
