Translation
The book “The Useful Saying in the Evidence of Ijtihad and Taqlid” by Muhammad Al-Shawkani discusses the topic of taqlid in Islamic jurisprudence and establishing the right to whether it is permissible or not. Al-Shawkani begins by presenting the evidence of those who say that imitation is permissible, then he moves on to explain the opinions of scholars prohibiting it, and reviews the opinions of the four imams in this regard. The book also addresses the issue of the blockage of the door to ijtihad, discusses its evidence, and provides advice to those who take the lead in issuing fatwas and judging from among the imitators.
