Hadith 261Riyadhus Shalihin

261 - Chapter on explaining what is permissible in lying. Know that lying, even if its origin is forbidden, is permissible in some circumstances under conditions that I have explained in the book: “Al-Adhkir”, and the summary of that is: that Speech is a means to achieving goals. Every praiseworthy goal that can be achieved without lying is forbidden to lie about, even if it cannot be achieved except by lying. It is permissible to lie. Then, if achieving that goal is permissible, then lying is permissible, and if it is obligatory, then lying is obligatory. If a Muslim hides from an oppressor who wants to kill him, or takes his money and hides his money and someone is asked about it, he must lie by hiding it. Likewise, if he has a deposit, and an unjust person wants to take it, he must lie to hide it. To be on the safe side in all of this, it is to be performed. The meaning of the pun is that he intends by his phrase something true that is not false in relation to it, even if it is false in the apparent meaning of the word, and in relation to it. To what the addressee understands, even if he abandons the pun and uses the phrase lying, it is not forbidden in this case. The scholars cited as evidence the permissibility of lying in this case with the hadith of Umm Kulthum, may God be pleased with her, in which she heard the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - saying: “The one who reconciles between people is not a liar. "or say good." agreed. Muslim added in a narration: Umm Kulthum said: I did not hear him permit anything that people say except in three things, meaning: war, reconciliation between people, a man’s conversation with his wife, and a hadith. The woman and her husband.

262 - Chapter on the urge to confirm what he says and narrates. God Almighty said: {And do not conceal that of which you have no knowledge} [Al-Isra: 36] And God Almighty said: {Not a word does he utter but there is a watcher by him, ever present.} [Q: 18]. 1547 - On the authority of Abu Hurairah - may God be pleased with him: The Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “It is enough of a lie for a man to narrate everything he hears.” Narrated by Muslim. 1548 - On the authority of Samurah - may God be pleased with him - he said: The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “Whoever narrates a hadith on my authority that he believes is a lie is one of the liars.” Narrated by Muslim. 1549 - On the authority of Asmaa, may God be pleased with her: A woman said: O Messenger of God, I have a wife. Is there any blame on me if I am satisfied with my husband other than the one who gives me? The Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “The one who is satiated with what he was not given is like one who wears two false garments.” agreed. “The one who is satiated”: He is the one who appears full but is not full. Its meaning here is to show that he has attained a virtue that he has not attained. “And he who wears false clothing” means: he who is false, and he is the one who deceives people, by dressing up like people of asceticism, knowledge, or wealth, so that people may be deceived by him. He is not like that. It was said otherwise, and God knows best.

263 - Chapter on explaining the severity of the prohibition of false testimony. God Almighty said: {And avoid false speech} [Al-Hajj: 30], and God Almighty said: {And do not withhold that of which you have no knowledge} [Al-Isra: 36], and God Almighty said: {What He utters not a single word, but with Him is a watcher, ever present.} [Q: 18], and God Almighty said: {Indeed, your Lord is on the lookout} [Al-Fajr: 16], and God Almighty said: {And those who do not bear witness to falsehood} [Al-Furqan: 72]. 1550 - On the authority of Abu Bakra - may God be pleased with him - he said: The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “Shall I not inform you of the greatest of sins?” We said: Yes, O Messenger of God. He said: “Associating partners with God and being disobedient to one’s parents.” He was reclining and sat up, so he said: “Except for false speech.” He kept repeating it until we said: I wish he had been silent. agreed.

264 - Chapter on the prohibition of cursing an individual person or an animal 1551 - On the authority of Abu Zaid Thabit bin Al-Dahhak Al-Ansari - may God be pleased with him - and he is one of the people of the Pledge of Allegiance of Al-Ridwan, he said: The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “Whoever swears an oath to a sect Other than Islam, he is deliberately false, so it is as he said, and whoever kills himself for something, he will be punished for it on the Day of Resurrection, and a man is not obligated to vow what he does not own, and he is cursed. A believer is like killing him.” agreed. 1552 - On the authority of Abu Hurairah - may God be pleased with him: The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “A friend should not be a curser.” Narrated by Muslim. 1553 - On the authority of Abu Al-Darda’ - may God be pleased with him - he said: The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “Those who curse will not be intercessors, nor witnesses on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by Muslim. 1554 - On the authority of Samurah ibn Jundub - may God be pleased with him - he said: The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “Do not curse with the curse of God, nor with His wrath, nor with fire.” Narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmidhi, and he said: “A good and authentic hadith.” 1555 - On the authority of Ibn Masoud - may God be pleased with him - he said: The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “The believer is not one who slanders, nor one who curses, nor one who is obscene, nor one who is obscene.” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, who said: “A good hadith.” 1556 - On the authority of Abu Al-Darda’ - may God be pleased with him - he said: The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “When a servant curses something, the curse ascends to heaven, and the gates of heaven are closed without it, and then It descends to the earth, and its doors close behind it, then it turns right and left, and if it finds no way out, it returns to the one who was cursed, if he is worthy of that, otherwise It returned to its speaker. Narrated by Abu Dawud. 1557 - On the authority of Imran bin Al-Husayn, may God be pleased with them both, he said: While the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - was on some of his travels, a woman from the Ansar was riding a camel. She became fed up and cursed her, so he heard that. The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “Take what is owed to her and leave her; She is cursed.” Imran said: It is as if I see her now walking among the people without anyone approaching her. Narrated by Muslim. 1558 - On the authority of Abu Barza Nadhla bin Ubaid Al-Aslami - may God be pleased with him - he said: While a girl was riding a camel, she had some of the people’s belongings on her. When she saw the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - and the mountain was distressed by them, she said: It is permissible, O God, curse her. Then the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “Do not accompany us with a camel that has a curse upon it.” Narrated by Muslim. His saying: “halal” is opened by opening the neglected haa and housing the lam: it is a word to rebuke camels. And know that the meaning of this hadith may be ambiguous, and there is no problem in it. Rather, what is meant is the prohibition on that she-camel accompanying them, and it does not contain a prohibition on selling it. Slaughtering it and riding it outside of the company of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - in fact, all of that and other actions are permissible and not prohibited, except in the company of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace. And he greeted - with it; Because all of these actions were permissible, some of them were prohibited, so the rest remained as it was, and God knows best.

Hadith 265Riyadhus Shalihin

265 - Chapter on the permissibility of cursing those who commit sins who are not specific. God Almighty said: {Indeed, the curse of God is upon the wrongdoers} [Hud: 18], and God Almighty said: {Then a muezzin announced among them that the curse of God is upon the wrongdoers} [Al-A`raf: 44]. It is proven in the Sahih that the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “God has cursed the one who connects people with the connection and the one who takes it.” And that he said: “God has cursed the one who consumes usury,” and that he cursed the photographers, and that He said: “May God curse the one who changes the lighthouse of the earth,” meaning its borders, and that he said: “May God curse the thief who steals the egg,” and that he said: “May God curse the one who curses his parents” and “He cursed the thief who steals the egg.” God is the one who slaughters for other than God,” and that he said: “Whoever commits an offense therein or harbors an infidel, upon him is the curse of God, the angels, and all of mankind,” and that he said: “O God, curse Ra’al, Dhakwan, and Asiya: they disobeyed God and His Messenger.” These are three Arab tribes. And he said: “God cursed the Jews for taking the graves of their prophets as places of worship” and that “He cursed the men who imitate women and the women who imitate men.” All of these words are in the Sahih. Some of them are in Sahihs Al-Bukhari and Muslim, and some are in one of them, but I intended to be brief by referring to them, and I will mention most of them in the chapters of this book, God willing.
